I love writing about Australia, with all its variations of scene and climate; its cities, some bustling and cosmopolitan, some quiet and tranquil, all beautiful in their own individual way. I love writing of the dry, arid and sometimes inhospitable interior and of the green Eastern seaboard. And of the incredibly beautiful, sometimes dangerous, tropical Far North with its rainforests and savannahs, and the wondrous Great Barrier Reef.
Australia's people are as diverse as its countryside, they could provide the material for as many stories I could ever hope to write.
And
the
wildlife! What can be
compared to the bounding kangaroo, the soft cuddly koala bear
with
its big round ears and black shoe button eyes, or the strange, duck
billed, fur clad platypus that you expect to be ungainly, until you are
lucky enough to spot the elus
ive
creature swimming gracefully through
the water.My first novel, 'Inheritance', is a contemporary romance mystery set in Far North Queensland and is published by
Wings ePress.
My next novel, which is now awaiting publication, is an historical novel set in the 1870's that moves from London to Sydney and then to Bulahdelah, NSW, in the countryside not far from where I now live. It includes historical detail and dynamic characters. The next book, non fiction, is a weight loss cook book featuring healthy, low fat recipes that can be prepared and cooked in thirty minutes or thereabouts.
I am a member of the NSW Writers Centre, Romance Writers of Australia, Author's Den and the Taree Scribblers .
In September 2007 I was the Featured Author with Aussie Authors.
I am a co-founder of 'Mid North Coast Authors' in conjunction with Jacqui Winn, another local author and friend.
